A-B M

A-B M is an interdisciplinary artist from North Carolina who specializes in illustrative black linework tattoos. A-B graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2013 with a BFA in painting, and began tattooing in the winter of 2014, learning and sharing skills of the trade amongst artists and friends in Baltimore before chasing the sun to the west coast in 2015. A-B's work features fantastic creatures and mythical landscapes, rendered with special attention to line weight, texture, and movement. They are most inspired by esoteric archetypes, illustrative symbology, folk narratives, and storytelling, with a style informed by elements of psychedelia, horror/sci-fi comics, and a variety of printmaking techniques and print history. A-B also makes drawings, comics, flyers, and objects from a home studio.
